Changing thanks to communication!

Nowadays, in almost all organisations there are two words which are used very often: change and communication. This is also true in the FCI.

Change
Change is a natural evolution process and should always be kept in mind, any time! Otherwise the organisation is not working on a quality and stable future…

A few examples of what we should do:

  • interfere more and more in healthy and welfare issues for our dogs, which are part of our society, and especially cooperate with welfare organisations;
  • always keep the quality of our dogs at high level

2013 FCI IPO FH - World Championship in Denmark

This year’s FCI IPO FH World Championship was held on 10-14 April in the surroundings of Ebeltoft, Denmark. This is in Jutland - Denmark’s beautiful nose - and close to the sea.

Erwin Patzen, Switzerland, with the German Shepherd Dog Aly vom Haus Patzen; 6th place with 178 points

The organisation, lead by Vivi Gilsanger, had done a good job, hence the competitors and the spectators were pleased. I must say, normally you don’t see the spectators and the competitors drink so much hot coffee in the field as they did this year.

Marco Dreyer, Germany, 1st place with German Shepherd Dog Erk vom Waliboer Land with 194 points. Judge: Terje Hammerseng (Norway)

During this competition, 38 participants from 20 different countries competed for the Title of 2013 FCI IPO- FH World Champion. The conditions were very heavy and for sure on a high level for this year’s World Championship: frost during the nights, frozen grounds and cold and very windy during the days.

Elina Levin, Israel, with German Shepherd Dog Kely Gymor; 9th place with 175 points

The tracks, all at least 1,800 steps long, very much the same for every dog, were laid on arable land with small vegetation in a rolling hill area.

Frans van Gestel, The Netherlands, with German Shepherd Dog Castor vom Ma-Haczek; 18th place with 105 points

That a well-trained tracking dog can cope with situations was shown by several dogs. To pass for this Championship, the dog must pass two times on two different days with at least 70 points. Only 10 out of the 38 could do so.

Franjo Matekovic, Croatia, with German Shepherd Dog Furby 't Palmaleinehof; 8 th place with 175 points. Judge Frederic Clemens (Belgium)

2013 FCI IPO FH World Champion was, just like last year, Marco Dreyer from Germany, with the German Shepherd Dog Erk vom Waliboer Land with 96 points in the first track and 98 in the second track.

2nd place was Sweden with 189 points and 3rd was Slovakia with 187 points.

1st 2013 FCI IPO-FH World Champion Marco Dreyer from Germany, with the German Shepherd Dog Erk vom Waliboerland, with 96 points in the first track and 98 points in the second track
2nd 2013 FCI IPO-FH World Champion Michael Tomczak with the German Shepherd Dog Aik vom Rio Negro. First track 98 points and second track 93 points
3rd 2013 FCI IPO-FH World Champion Mathias Samuelsson from Sweden with the German Shepherd Dog Izemdrifts Noggy. First track 98 points and second track 91 points

A very big “thank you” to all who helped to make this World Championship possible and successful.
A special one goes to the judges, Frederic Clemens from Belgium and Terje Hammerseng from Norway, who had not only to walk a lot of miles, but at the same time made a fair judgement or every competitor.
