Changing thanks to communication!

Nowadays, in almost all organisations there are two words which are used very often: change and communication. This is also true in the FCI.

Change
Change is a natural evolution process and should always be kept in mind, any time! Otherwise the organisation is not working on a quality and stable future…

A few examples of what we should do:

  • interfere more and more in healthy and welfare issues for our dogs, which are part of our society, and especially cooperate with welfare organisations;
  • always keep the quality of our dogs at high level

Changing thanks to communication!

Nowadays, in almost all organisations there are two words which are used very often: change and communication. This is also true in the FCI.

Change
Change is a natural evolution process and should always be kept in mind, any time! Otherwise the organisation is not working on a quality and stable future…

A few examples of what we should do:

  • interfere more and more in healthy and welfare issues for our dogs, which are part of our society, and especially cooperate with welfare organisations;
  • always keep the quality of our dogs at high level

since we receive more and more attention from dog lovers active in the sports and working dogs fields and because the organisations in general are working towards professionalisation, also the FCI!

Communication
There is a need for correct understanding and for correct information, adapted to cultural differences. But first of all, communication must be open and transparent!
Within the FCI, we use several communication channels: newsletter, circular, Facebook, website, General Assembly and minutes from different commissions’ meetings.

I am part of the working group "Back to the Standards", which is working, among others, on different approaches to guarantee healthy breeding and extensive information sharing network (breed-specific or larger scope). It is important for the FCI to bring our members together in a perfect communication forum where we will share information and help each other with all kind of questions and developing projects. The way we communicate should become more and more professional.

Changing thanks to communication!
No matter what we want to change, we will always need an excellent communication. It will not always be easy, but we must show our will:

  • excellent communication about what we want to change and how we want to change
  • excellent communication between all members and the FCI secretariat
  • excellent communication from and towards FCI members and the FCI secretariat
  • excellent communication is not “waiting” but “acting”.

Let us communicate in an open and transparent way, to become a stable and a high-quality organisation ready for the future.

Because a stable and high-quality level of organisation makes us proud to be a member of the FCI!
